William J. Butler, M.D., is a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercer University School of Medicine and Director of the Central Georgia Fertility Institute. Prior to coming to Macon in June of 1999, Dr. Butler was the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at The Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine. William J. Butler, M.D., is Board Certified in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Genetics.

Abdelmoneim I. Younis, DVM, MS,
PhD, EMB, HCLD(ABB), is an Associate Professor
and Scientific Director at the Mercer University
School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics
and Gynecology and Director of the Central Georgia
Fertility Institute. Dr. Younis was among the
first ten embryology practitioners who have been
certified by the American College of Embryology
(http://embcol.org/). His areas of interests include:
Fertility preservation and Assisted Reproductive
Technology in monkey, chimps and human. Oocyte,
Sperm IVM, IVF, Cryobiology, follicular stimulation.

Deanna L. Nelsen, RN, BSN, MBA
Deanna L. Nelsen, RN, BSN, MBA offers twenty years’ experience in women’s health and is ACLS certified. She has spent the majority of her career in the hospital setting providing nursing care in varied OB/GYN settings and joined CGFI in 2002.
She graduated number one in her nursing class at Southern Connecticut State University in 1986 and completed clinical training at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dee (as she is known by her patients) also received the “Excellence in Nursing Award” for academic and clinical achievement. In 1990, Deanna earned an MBA specializing in Health care Administration.
Continuing education and keeping up-to-date in the field of reproductive medicine is important to all the nurses at CGFI. Deanna completed a week-long Preceptorship Program at Reproductive Biology Associates in Atlanta, GA shortly after joining CGFI. She and the other nurses in the office attend the annual Smart ART program, a 4 day symposium covering advancements in infertility treatments.
